Job seekers and employers in San Miguel and Mora counties are invited to participate in a Career Fair in Las Vegas at 10 a.m. on Oct. 1 at the Luna Community College MEC Atrium. The event is sponsored by the New Mexico Workforce Connection in partnership with the Regional Development Corporation, Help New Mexico and the NM Department of Vocational Rehabilitation and Luna Community College. A variety of employers will be on-site and ready to hire, so job seekers should bring plenty of copies of their resume. Employers looking to hire are eligible to receive free booth space to meet and recruit job applicants.

The United World College-USA in Montezuma is looking for Get-Away families for its 16- to 19-year-old students. UWC is a two-year international high school with 235 students from more than 90 countries. The Get-Away program pairs students with local families who offer their homes to host students for breaks, holidays, or occasional outings. The Las Vegas Visitor Center located in the LV Train Station and CCHP (Citizen’s Committee for Historic Preservation) located at 116 Bridge St. are looking for friendly, personable people to meet and greet visitors. Responsibilities include providing printed resources and maps about our City and the surrounding areas, helping visitors discover the history, culture and architecture of las Vegas, and directing tourists where they might hike, eat, shop, and spend the night. Tri County Farmers Market Summer Hours are 8 a.m. - sell out, every Saturday. We are located in the parking lot by Semilla, 6th and University. Vendors are selling pickles, beef, pork, greens, chicken/duck and goose eggs, baked goods, remedios, vegetables as they come into season, wooden wares, dried herbs, garden and house plants, home made candies, soaps and more. Customers can double their spending money through the Double Up Food Bucks program. New vendors from the Tri County area are welcome.
