Joseph Martinez

While it was too soon for us, the lord decided to call Joseph Ted Martinez home on Jan. 6, 2022 with his beloved fiancé, Christine Martinez by his side.

He was a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother and fiancé. He accepted our lord Jesus as his lord and savior. He was hard working and always lent a hand to anyone that needed one.

Ted worked for UPS for 40 years before he retired to his home in New Mexico. He loved to study the bible, ride his motorcycles, classic cars, working on his many projects, his family and most of all his beautiful granddaughters. He was funny, caring and could talk with anyone he met (sometimes for hours). Many will undoubtedly miss him.

Ted is preceded in death by his grand parents; brother in-law Jose Louis Martinez; and his niece Kala Martinez.

Ted is survived by his parents, Jose and Maria Martinez; daughter Mercedes Martinez (Brandon); son Lucas Martinez; granddaughters, Mya Martinez, Destanie Dettmann (Cody), Savanna Worthington (Cody); sisters, Janet Martinez (Jose), Susan Jacquez (Caesar); fiancé Christine Martinez; his many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Services will be held at the Rociada Baptist Church in New Mexico on Friday, Jan. 14, 2022 at 2 p.m., with the burial to follow at the San Jose Cemetery in upper Rociada.
