Eloise J. Otero Schwebke

Eloise J. Otero Schwebke, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on March 3, 2023, in Las Cruces, N.M. 

She was born on July 29, 1940, in Las Vegas, N.M. to Vicenta Otero Montoya. 

Eloisa graduated from Robertson High School in 1958 in Las Vegas, N.M. and continued her education graduated Nursing school from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Denver, Colo. She worked for over 40 years as a registered nurse. Some of the places she worked included Mescalero Indian Hospital, the Public Heath Offices in Anthony, N.M. and Alamogordo, N.M. After retiring, she and her husband Daniel traveled around the US. Eloisa loved to travel and was always ready to go! She loved to dance and gather with family and friends. Eloisa was very active volunteering at the Cancer Resource Center, playing her Wednesday card game and monthly Bunko game. She was a member of St. Francis De Paul Catholic Church.

Eloisa was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Bessie Montoya. 

Eloisa is survived by her husband Daniel Schwebke; her sons, Steve Rowin and wife Debbie of Clairmont, Fla., Sean Rowin and wife Elaine of Anton Chico, N.M., and Kim and husband Lawrence Chavez of Tularosa, N.M.; stepson Kevin Schwebke of Alamogordo, N.M.; her grandchildren, Steven (Nikki) Rowin, Ryan Ostuni, Ashley (Ryan) Drawdy, Catherine Rowin Pena (John), Miranda (Rafael) Mcleod, Joslynn Rowin, Matthew (Marissa) Chavez, Brianna Chavez; 15 great grandchildren; her brothers, Raymond Castillo and wife Linda of Pinehurst, N.C., Narcisco Otero and wife Gina of Alamogordo, N.M.; sister Sylvia Greenbaum and husband Tom of Albuquerque, N.M.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons, Steven Rowin, Matthew Chavez, Ryan Ostuni, River Pena, Daniel Crespin, Braylen Manning, Ezra Drawdy, and Estevan Rowin.

Services have already taken place.

The Schwebke family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
