The Robertson boys soccer team doesn't want to always have to rely on its top scorer — but it sure is nice when he comes through.

Musah Dumbia scored the only goal of Saturday's exciting 1-0 Cardinal home win over Sandia Prep. The win made the Cards 11-3 and 5-1 in District 2-1A/3A, and sets up an 11 a.m. showdown Saturday with district leader St. Michaels (6-1 in district) at RHS.

The Cardinals were set to play at Oak Grove Classical Academy in Albuquerque on Tuesday after Optic press time.

  • Horsemen are next foe for both Dons and Cards

West (4-3 overall, 1-0 in District 2-3A) had a bye last weekend, coming off its district-opening, 60-21 win at Raton on Oct. 5. The St. Michael's Horsemen visit the Herrera Complex on Friday for a 7 p.m. showdown with the Dons.
