Wagon Mound voters during Tuesday’s General Election will choose between three candidates for mayor.

Candidates are incumbent Ferdinando “Luis” Lopez, former mayor Andres Martinez and newcomer Gabriel Derek Maestas. Lopez and Martinez are Democrats while Maestas is an Independent.

The mayor is paid $2,400 annually.

In other races, Wagon Mound School Board members Tom Herrera, Terri Mares and Camille Cornell are all unopposed for another four-year term.

Newcomer Eldie Cruz is running for the village council seat held by Timothy Cruz; Timothy Cruz, who is no relation to Eldie Cruz according to village deputy clerk Colleen Engelhardt, chose not to run again.

The other unopposed council candidate is incumbent Paul Miera.
