    New Mexico Highlands University geology graduate student Rhonda Trujillo will conduct field research this summer on extinct volcanoes in the Chaine des Puys mountains of south-central France through Highlands’ exchange program with Blaise Pascal University.

  • HU media arts students create exhibit for museum

    New Mexico Highlands University media arts students developed the bulk of a new cutting-edge multimedia exhibit, “Emergence: A New View of Life’s Origins,” for the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science.

    The grand opening for the permanent museum exhibit is June 30 in Albuquerque.

  • Robertson FFA claims several state titles

    Members of the Robertson High School FFA excelled in several categories at the recent New Mexico State Career Development Events, held at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces.

    There were more than 1,900 FFA members from across the state that competed in the CDE’s this year. Students’ competitive teams claimed a state championship, several seconds, and many individuals received honors and recognition for placing within the top ten in their prestigious competitions.

  • Students receive scholarships

    Highlands University

    Two New Mexico Highlands University archaeology graduate students received scholarships from the Archaeological Society of New Mexico that will help fund their groundbreaking thesis research.

    Jason Nevins and Aaron Roth are the first to conduct in-depth forensic anthropological studies of human remains from the Sangre de Cristo mountains of northeast New Mexico. The remains date from A.D. 800 times to the late 1800s.

    Both will use the latest forensic technology in their research.
