The 10th annual Neighbor to Neighbor Fund Drive, which benefits San Miguel and Mora counties in addition to seven other Northern New Mexico counties, raised enough money to buy one million pounds of food. 

The Food Depot’s virtual event raised $201,429 from 139 different neighborhoods, businesses and organizations. Top fundraisers were the Sierra del Norte neighborhood donating $30,655, and business Pak Mail donating $4,820. Both are in Santa Fe.

The Food Depot provided over 9.6 million meals in 2020.

Agencies benefiting in San Miguel County, who distribute food were:

•Las Vegas Community Soup Kitchen at First United Methodist Church, 715 National Ave., where lunch is served from noon to 12:35 p.m. every Thursday, 425-7283 715

•Comedor de San Pascual Our Lady of Sorrows Parish Hall, 1810 E. Plaza St., where a free meal is provided from 3:30-4:10 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Food boxes are also available, 505-617-8471

•Las Vegas Food Pantries Samaritan House, 501 7th St., provides daily lunch bags from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and dinner every evening from 6 to 7 p.m., 454-1390.

•Victory Life Church, 258 Frontage Road 2137, home deliveries, call 425-8847 to order

•Bernal Community Center, 26 County Road, B28A, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of the month, 575-421-2818  

•Pecos San Miguel Sheriff’s Posse, 104 S. Main St. 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of the month.

In Mora County:

•El Rito Presbyterian Church in the Chacon/Holman area from 9 to 10:30 a.m. the fourth Wednesday of the month, 575-387-5708

•First Presbyterian Church, Mora, state Route 518, mile marker 29 from noon to 1:30 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of the month, 575-387-2750

•Saint Gertrude’s Parish Food Pantry, 1 Church Plaza 9 to 11 a.m. the second Tuesday of the month, 575-387-2336

•Wagon Mound at Santa Clara Parish Hall, 805 Calhoun St., noon until food runs out the fourth Tuesday of the month, 505-934-9980
