• Evangeline M. Bustamante

    Evangeline M. Bustamante, age 56, a longtime resident of Las Vegas and former resident of Mora, passed away on Sept. 30, 2010.

    She was born on June 5, 1954, to Tony Duran and Josephine Maestas.

    She was united in marriage on Nov. 28, 1982, in Las Vegas to Carlos Bustamante.

    She retired in 1992 from Las Vegas Medical Center, where she was employed as Executive Secretary for 22 years. She loved to spend time with her grandsons.

    She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Las Vegas, NM.

  • Alex Noah Aragon

    Alex Noah Aragon, age 52, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at his home.

    He was born on Feb. 5, 1958, to the late Candido Aragon Jr. and Annie M. Torres-Aragon who survives him.

    Alex worked for the railroad for 10 years, worked as a plumber, electrician and also a lifeguard at the recreation center. Alex enjoyed swimming, fishing and being in the outdoors. He also enjoyed traveling and being with his friends.

    He was preceded in death by his father: Candido Aragon, Jr; grandson: William Robert Israel Aragon.

  • Daniel F. Garduo

    Daniel F. Garduño, Sr., 68, of Albuquerque, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, Sept. 24, 2010. He was born in Las Vegas Feb. 18, 1942, to Joe F. and Mela Garduño. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a friend to all that ever encountered his infectious personality.

    Filadelfio Vigil, a lifelong resident of Ojo Feliz, N.M., passed away on Monday evening at Vida Encantada Nursing Home.

  • Donnie Aragon

    Donnie Aragon, 39, a former Las Vegas resident and son of Valentin Aragon, has died.

    The viewing is 5-8 p.m. Thursday and 4 p.m. for family at Spring Funeral Services in Colorado Springs, Colo. The funeral is set for 10 a.m.  Friday, also at Spring Funeral Services.

    Springs Funeral Services 3115 E. Platte Ave., Colorado Springs, Colo., is handling arrangements.

  • Santiago “Jimmy” Ortega

    Santiago “Jimmy” Ortega, a longtime resident of Lovington, N.M., formerly of Las Vegas, New Mexico passed away Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, in Lubbock, Texas.

    Rosary services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, N.M., with Father George Salazar as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Santo Niño Cemetery in Gallinas, N.M.

  • Hilario Lopez

    Hilario Lopez, age 85, passed away on Sept. 25, 2010, at his home with his loving wife, daughter and family by his side.

    A lifelong farmer and rancher of Leyba, N,M,, he worked at Clines Corners Service Station for 17 years.

    Hiliario is preceded in death by his parents, Adolfo and Rita G. Lopez; in-laws, Ezequiel and Agueda Gonzales; son-in-law, Gilbert Duran; sisters, Rosa (Cayetano) Madrid and Juanita (Atiliano) Lovato; brothers-in-law, Alfredo Madrid, Estevan Gonzalez, Rocky Chavez and Amadeo Ortiz; sister-in-law, Theresa Chavez.

  • Josie Lucero

    Josie Lucero, lifetime resident passed away Sept 16, 2010, in Albuquerque of an extended illness.

    She was preceded in death by parents Martin and Otelia Lucero, husband Ricardo Lucero, five sisters and two brothers.

    She is survived by her brother, Charles (Sheila) Lucero of California, niece, Joan Marquez of Nevada, and several nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services will be at a later date.

  • Clarence Gary Falvey

    Clarence Gary Falvey, 73, a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, passed away at Vida Encantada Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Sept. 21, 2010.  

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Evelyn Baca Falvey; in-laws: Albert and Ruby Belcher Moss, brothers-in-law, Carl Moss, Pat Moss, and Chester Rierson.

  • Caroline Florence Trujillo

    Caroline Florence Trujillo, a near lifelong resident of Mora and Cleveland, passed away peacefully at her home in Cleveland on Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at the age of 83.

    She was born in Buena Vista, N.M., on July 10, 1927, and was the daughter of Joseph R. Florence and Mary Refugio Rudolph. She was married to Rodolfo Trujillo, who preceded her in passing. She had six children, John Trujillo (and Katy Schacht), Isabel (and husband Alex Archuleta), Robert Trujillo (and wife Tamara), Virginia Sanchez, Frank Trujillo (deceased and his wife Dolores) and Margaret Trujillo.
