    Longtime resident of Santa Fe passed away Saturday, June 16. She was born in Las Vegas to Hilario and Alice Garduño. Geraldine was kind, giving, and generous, had a heart of gold and touched many lives.

    She was an amazing mother, aunt, and sister who was loved beyond words by all.

    She is survived by her son: Robert James Pineda, daughter: Darlene Garcia, and granddaughter: Paige Miller.

  • Josie Romero

    Josie Romero, age 87, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Christus St. Vincent’s Hospital in Santa Fe, N.M.

    She was born on April 11, 1925, in Ojo del Medio, N.M., to Florencio Lujan and Eloisa Montoya Lujan.

    She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great- grandmother, great- great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and a member of San Miguel Senior Citizens Center.

    She was a Catholic and a lifetime member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas.

  • Manuel Isidro Lerma

    Manuel Isidro Lerma, 63, a resident of Tecolotito, N.M., passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Ladera Nursing Home in Albuquerque, N.M.

    He was born to Ray and Petra Lerma on No. 5, 1949, in Portales, N.M.

    He was preceded in death by daughter: Christine Lerma and brothers: Ray Arthur Lerma and Arnold Lerma.

  • Margarito Arthur “Castro” Vigil

    Margarito Arthur “Castro” Vigil, 69 years old, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2012.

    He was born on Sept. 6, 1942; to Filadelfio and Juanita Padilla Vigil in Las Vegas. He was a very active councilman for 12 years. His projects always included Old Town improvements and helping the people throughout the City of Las Vegas, which he affectionately called, “God’s Country.” He was involved in numerous projects which came to fruition due to his stubbornness to complete whatever he started.

  • Clorinda Martinez

    Clorinda Martinez, 80, a lifelong resident of Holman, N.M., currently a resident of La Cañada del Carro passed away on June 13, 2012, at Alta Vista Regional Hospital in Las Vegas.

    She was born on July 28, 1931, in Holman, N.M. to the late Jose Isa Lopez and Epifania M. Martinez Lopez.

    She loved praying, reading, fishing, puzzles, crocheting, and playing Kismet.

    She loved spending time with her family.

  • Maria “Bennie” Abila

    Maria “Bennie” Abila, 91, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Monday.

    She was preceded in death by her parents: Vicente and Casimira Archuleta; her husband: Higinio C. Abila; a sisters: Nora Rodriguez, Eufracia Tapia, and Estella Tenorio; brothers: Sotero and Pedro Archuleta.

  • Alice Archuleta

    Alice Archuleta, 91, a resident of Wagon Mound, N.M., passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2012, at her residence.

    She was born on June 25, 1920 in Colmor, N.M., to Eugenio Lovato and Juanita Vigil Lovato.

    She was a food director by profession at the Wagon Mound Public Schools.

    She was a lifelong Catholic and a member of the Santa Clara Catholic Church in Wagon Mound.

  • Darlene Barela Cooke

    Darlene Barela Cooke of Haverford, Pa., 67, died June 10, 2012, at her home in Haverford.

    Visitation was scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13 at the Chadwick & McKinney Funeral Home, 30 East Athens Ave., Ardmore, Pa., 19003.

    Darlene was born to Joe C. and Annie M. Barela of Las Vegas.

    She graduated from Webster College with a degree in English and literature and earned a master’s degree in marketing from Webster University in St. Louis, Mo.

  • Ezdella Zamora Garcia

    Ezdella (Zamora) Garcia was called home to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 6, 2012.

    She passed away peacefully, her devoted husband of 57 years, Manuel D. Garcia and daughter, Marlene (Gloria) were at her side at Providence Place Glencroft in Glendale, Ariz.   

    She was born Sept. 5, 1937, in Los Chupaderos, N.M., to the late Federico and Esther Zamora.  

    Ezdella is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter: Edna Elizabeth (Garcia) James.  

  • Jose Willie Mora

    Jose Willie Mora, age 83, a long time resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Veterans Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M.

    He was born on Oct. 3, 1929 in Mora, N.M. to Benito Mora and Isabelita Trujillo Mora.

    He was a child care pro-vider with the Foster Grandparents and he enjoyed reading western or detective books and loved to take walks.
