    Eloisa S. Bustos, a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 13, 2012, at Alta Vista Hospital.

    She was born on March 12, 1928 to Rafael and Sofia Gallegos Sanchez. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother (to many young people), great-grandmother and friend. Eloisa was a lifelong Catholic and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas.

  • Phyllis Ann Compton Anderson

    Phyllis Ann Compton was born and raised in Las Vegas to parents Cecil Ashby and Lucy Floyd Compton, on Feb. 26, 1930.

    She had three brothers: Cecil, Donald and Richard, and one sister: Margaret. She graduated from New Mexico Highlands University with a degree in music, and subsequently taught music at Española Valley High School.

    She had two children: Chuck Anderson and Allison Anderson.
    She eventually moved into an exceptional care facility, Haven Corner, where she was loved and cared for until her death in Oregon City, Ore., on June 21, 2012.

    Irene Gonzales, 50, longtime resident of Blanchard, N.M., passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012, at the Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, Colo.

    She was born on April 17, 1962, to Ruben Dimas and Mary Marquez Dimas.

    She was preceded in death by her father: Ruben Dimas.

    Louis G. Saiz, 71, was born in Las Vegas on Sept. 4, 1940 to Teodoro and Ana Maria Saiz and died on July 4, 2012.

    He was a resident of El Paso, Texas for more than 40 years and served in the U.S. Army for more than 24 years.

    He is preceded in death by his father and mother, his sisters: Jenny Gallegos, Pomposa Peggy Saiz, Marian Tafoya, Connie Catanach, and Alice Saiz, his brothers: Juan Nash Saiz, Ted Saiz, and Steven Saiz and other family members.

  • Alvin J. “Yogi” Duran

    Alvin J. “Yogi” Duran, a lifelong resident of Mora and Angel Fire, N.M., passed away due to sudden illness Saturday, July 7, 2012, in Albuquerque, N.M.

    He was born in Guadalupita, N.M. on Aug. 22, 1944 to Luis Duran and Lourdes Martinez. He married, Isabel Duran, his wife of 42 years, on Nov. 23, 1970.

    He is preceded in death by his father: Luis Duran, mother: Lourdes Martinez, younger sister: Christine Hammett, aunt: Cleo Gonzales, father-in-law: Max Pacheco, mother-in-law: Elvira Pacheco, and brother-in-law: Alex Guzman.

    Leonard J. Hall, Jr., a resident of Las Vegas for the past eight years and former resident of Rockwood, Tenn. passed away at the Alta Vista Regional Hospital on July 6, 2012.

    He was born Feb. 2, 1938 in Rockwood, Tenn. to the late Mr. and Mrs. Leonard J. Hall, Sr.

    He was united in marriage in Alhambra, Calif. on Aug. 8, 1964, to the late Beatriz S. Hall.

    He enjoyed watching western movies, NASCAR driving, college football, and reminiscing with family. He was a lifelong Christian.
