    Joe Gallegos, “Mr. G,” 66, a resident of Peasco, passed away after a short illness on Friday Sept. 14, 2007. He was preceded in death by his mother, Brigida Gallegos; granddaughter Cassandra Gallegos; father and mother-in-law Domingo and Paula Martinez; and brother Franklin Gallegos.

    Manuel R. Trujillo

    Manuel R. Trujillo, a resident of Las Vegas, N.M., since December 1903, died Oct. 16, 2007. He was 103 years old.

    He is preceded by his wife, Irene Trujillo, who died in 1981. Mr. Trujillo is survived by his son’s and daughters, all of Albuquerque; File Trujillo and wife Nea; Bridget Montoya, preceded by her husband Vincent Montoya; Mary Baca and husband Isa Baca; Eloy Trujillo and wife Margaret; Aurora Montoya and husband Tino.

    Piedad Romero, age 78, a longtime resident of Ocate, N.M., passed away at her home on Friday Oct.12, 2007.

    Born on April 30, 1929 in Raton, N.M., she is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Sisneros and Ciria Guara Sisneros. Also by her brothers Ramon Sisneros and Lloyd Sisneros; sisters Cresencia Sisneros LeFebre and Ethel Sisneros Salazar.

    Our beloved father, Paul Benjamin Roybal, a long-time resident of Las Vegas, passed away Oct. 10, 2007. May he rest in peace.

    He was born to Pedro and Julia Roybal on Nov. 22, 1940, in Trinidad, Colo. His children are Lorraine Roybal, Darlene Roybal, Kenneth Roybal, Mitchel Roybal and Nadine Roybal.

    A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct 16, at Mt Olivet, and he will be interned 11:30 a.m., Oct. 17 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

  • Tanny Marie Lovato

    Tanny Marie Lovato, 45, a resident of La Mesilla, passed away on Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, following a courageous fight with cancer. She was born to Marcelino and Dorothy Lujan in Roy, N.M. on Jan. 13, 1962. She was preceded in death by her father, Marcelino Lujan; maternal grandparents, Celia Lucero and Victoriano Padilla; paternal grandparents, Jose Ignacio Lujan and Magdalena Gallegos; very special mother-in-law, Carlota Lovato and sister-in-law, Christella Lovato. She was an exceptional wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

    Piedad Romero, age 78, a longtime resident of Ocate, N.M. passed away at her home on Friday October 12, 2007.

    A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday October 16, 2007 from Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Ocate, N.M.. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. With respect to Mrs. Romero’s final wishes, cremation will take place and interment will be held at a later time.

    A funeral mass for Louis Romero was celebrated on Saturday morning from St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Mora, N.M.. Mr. Romero was laid to rest at the Ojo Feliz Catholic Cemetery in Ojo Feliz, N.M.. Serving as pallbearers were David Romero, Savino Romero, Ron Casias, Roy Vasquez, Jeremy Casias and James Gonzales.

    Louis was born March 23, 1915 in Ocate, N.M. to the union of Jose Vialquino Romero an Floripa Vigil Romero. He was united in marriage to Maria Escolastica Cordova on August 22, 1942 in Mora, N.M., they enjoyed 53 years of marriage.

    Herman Gonzales, 75, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, born in Tecolote, N.M., passed away in Albuquerque Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, after a long illness.

    Services for Mr. Gonzales took place in Albuquerque, N.M. Funeral Services were held this morning at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church where the Mass was celebrated.
