  • Marcella G. Gutierrez

    Marcella G. Gutierrez, age 72, a four-year resident of Las Vegas, N.M., and former seven- year resident of Mora and 21-year resident of Grants passed away on Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at her home.

    She was born in Williams, Ariz. on March 13, 1935, to the late Emeterio Gomez and Regina Padilla Gomez.

    A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.

    She was preceded in death by her parents: Emeterio and Regina Gomez; husband: Anastacio Gutierrez; sister: Mary Padilla; brother: Jimmy Gomez; and step-daughter: Tina Kingery.

  • Margie Purcell Lovato

    A rosary will be recited this evening at 7 p.m. from Our Lady of Sorrows Church for 71-year- old Margie Purcell Lovato, a life long resident of Las Vegas who passed away in Denver, Colo., on Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at the same church. Father C. John Brasher will celebrate the Mass. The interment will follow in the San Jose Cemetery.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Celia Montoya; a brother Frank Montoya, and a cousin, George Montoya.

  • Agripina M. Sanchez

    Agripina M. Sanchez, age 97, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, N.M. an former resident of Trujillo, N.M. passed away on Sunday, Nov.11, 2007, at the Brook-haven Nursing Home following an extended illness.

    She was born in San Antonio, N.M., on June 23, 1910, to the late Jose Montoya and Bonifacia Ortiz Montoya and was united in marriage to the late Carlos Sanchez.

  • Margie Purcell Lovato

    Margie Purcell Lovato, 71, a life-long resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Saturday morning at the Denver Health Hospital in Denver, Colo.

    Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with a rosary Thursday at 7 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Friday morning at 9. Further arrangements will be made by Billy G. Rogers at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations, 2315 Hot Springs Blvd., 425-9319.

  • Pedro Medina

    Pedro Medina, born on Feb. 22, 1933 to the late Jose L. and Estefanita Gallegos Medina, joined our Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at the age of 74. He was a prominent rancher from Maes, N.M. He was a member of the New Mexico Mounted Patrol and a deputy for the San Miguel County Sheriff during the 1980s. He was employed by the United World College for the last 24 years.

  • Joseph E. 'Joe Hoss' Carrillo Jr.

    Joseph E. “Joe Hoss” Carrillo Jr., age 45, a resident of Las Vegas, N.M., for the past 22 years passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, in Walden, Colo.

    He was born in Denver on March 5, 1962, to Joseph E. Carrillo, Sr. and Toni Esquibel Rivera.

    He served his country proudly in the United States Army as Private One and was honorably discharged on Dec. 9, 1980.

    He was a self-employed Truck Driver and drove cross country for 24 years. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan. He enjoyed fishing and driving his truck and also loved his puppy Lil Jay.

  • Donna Bernard

    Donna Bernard, 52 of Montezuma, N.M. , formerly of Amarillo, Texas, died Wednesday Nov. 7, 2007 at Amarillo.

    Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Central Church of Christ with Dan Bouchelle, Senior Minister and Denton Wigains, of Camp Blue Haven in Las Vegas, N.M. officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas.

  • Mary E. Flynt

    Mary E. Flynt, born Maria Praxedis Evangelista Segura to Eusebio and Flora Chavez-Segura on Nov. 24, 1926 in Old Las Vegas, N.M., died Mary E. Flynt.

    She married Jim F. Flynt in November 1947. They had six natural children and one adopted.

    As a family, she and Dad made Albuquerque their home in 1950.

    Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim; her son Jim D.; her precious, DeeDee; her parents, Eusebio and Flora Segura; sister, Dolores; and brother, Martin Segura.

  • Lula Espinoza Ludi

    Lula Espinoza Ludi, 89, of Las Vegas, N.M., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, after a short illness.

    She was born in Ortiz, Colo., in 1918 to the late Celes-tino and Rosalia Espinoza. She was married to the late Eloy E. Ludi for 60 years. She was preceded in death by brothers, Celestino Espinoza Jr. and Reginaldo Espinoza, as well as sisters, Ruth Fuentes, Lorraine Nelson and Elsie Myers.

    Joseph E. “Joe Hoss” Carrillo, age 45, a resident of Las Vegas, N.M., for the past 22 years passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007 in Walden, Colo.
