  • Andy L. Pino

    Andy L. Pino, age 39, a resident of Santa Fe, N.M., for the past six months and a former resident of Buena Vista, N.M., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2008, in Santa Fe.

    He was born on June 25, 1968 to the late Amadeo Pino and Virginia Gallegos-Sanchez.

    He was united in marriage on March 12, 2007, in Mora, N.M. to Debra Pino.

    He was preceded in death by his brother: Paul Pino in 1996; uncles: Tommy and Manuel Romero; great nephew: Terrance Alcon; mother-in-law: Dolores Martinez.

  • Genevieve Rubio

    Genevieve Rubio, age 89, a lifelong resident of Las Vegas passed away on Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at Vida Encantada Nursing Facility.

    A rosary will be recited at 7 Thursday evening from Nelson Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9 Friday morning by the Rev. C. John Brasher at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

  • Dolores S. 'Lola" Alire

    The Mass of Christian Burial for Dolores S. “Lola” Alire, 99, a life long resident of Las Vegas who passed away at Vida Encantada Nursing and Rehab Center on Thursday, was celebrated this morning at 9 a.m. from Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Father C. John Brasher celebrated the Mass. The interment followed in the San Jose Cemetery with the following relatives serving as casket bearers: Jimmy Madrid, Joseph Madrid, Angelo Solano, Ray Suazo, Ray Delgado, and Russell Cortez.

  • Alfredo V. Montoya

    Alfredo V. Montoya, age 79, a resident of Santa Fe, N.M., for the past year and former longtime resident of Las Vegas, N.M. passed away on Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at his home.

    He was born in Las Tusas, N.M., on May 9, 1928, to the late Felipe S. Montoya and Nicholasa Varela Montoya.

    He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict as a sergeant.

    Mary Salazar, a lifelong resident of Ribera, N.M. passed away on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, N.M.

  • Thomas Joseph Martinez

    Thomas Joseph Martinez, age 56, a native of Las Vegas, N.M., former resident of Albuquerque, N.M. and a resident of Daphne, Ala., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008.

    He is survived by his wife, Kim Martinez of Daphne, son, T.J. Martinez of San Francisco, Calif., brothers, Leroy Pino and his wife Bella of Albuquerque; Robert Eloy Martinez, Jr. of Los Gatos, Calif., Dick Martinez and his wife Cyndi of Chicago, Ill, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Funeral services were held in the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008.

    A funeral mass for Cecilia Nelson was celebrated by Rev. C. John Brasher this morning at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was laid to rest at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Dilia, N.M. Serving as pallbearers were her son-in-law, Cristino Griego and her grandsons, PJ Wolff, Cristino “Tino” Griego, Christian Nelson, Joaquin Griego and Mario Griego.

    Dolores S. “Lola” Alire, 99, a life-long resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Thursday morning at Vida Encantada Nursing and Rehab Center.

  • Joan Wilcox Boliek

    Joan Wilcox Boliek, 79, of Sapello, N.M., passed away Wednesday, Feb., 20, at Alta Vista Regional Hospital following a brief, sudden illness. Joan was born Dec. 4, 1928, in Norwalk, Ohio; daughter of Ralph and Hertha Wilcox.
