• Agnes G. Valdez

    Agnes G. Valdez, a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, N.M., passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 1, 2008.

    She was born Dec. 12, 1945 to the late Petra Anaya Valdez and Ruben Valdez.

    Agnes was passionate about everything she did. This is especially true in the way she cared for her family. Agnes retired from the Las Vegas Medical Center and was also a full time mother. She devoted her life to being a caring, giving, and supported force to her son, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was blessed to have had a life that she lived to the fullest.

  • Cecilio Olguin

    Cecilio Olguin, age 57, a resident of Las Vegas, N.M. for the past two years and a former resident of Teco-lotito, N.M., passed away on Wednesday July 30, 2008, at the Alta Regional Hospital in Las Vegas, N.M.

    He was born in Dahlia, N.M. on May 20, 1951, to the late Emilio Olguin and Genoveva Garcia Olguin.

    He was a mechanic and enjoyed fishing and cutting firewood. He was a loving father, brother, uncle and friend.

    A lifetime Catholic, he was a member of the St. Joseph’s Church in Anton Chico, N.M.

  • Eloisa P. Gonzales

    The Mass of Christian Burial for Eloisa P. Gonzales, 72, a resident of Las Vegas who passed away on Sunday at the Heart Hospital of New Mexico in Albuquerque, was celebrated this morning at 9. from Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Father C. John Brasher celebrated the Mass. The interment followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with the following relatives serving as casket bearers: Joey Gonzales, Casey Padilla, Damian Trujillo, Angelo Vigil, Gilbert Salas Jr., Carlos Coca, and Richard Maestas. Honorary bearers were Jim Digent and Dennis Puckett.

  • Jose Aragon

    Jose Aragon son of the late Crisostomo Aragon and Rumaldita (Jaramillo) Aragon, born Dec. 15, 1928, in Loveland, Colo., passed away Sunday, July 27, 2008, at Alta Vista Regional Hospital.

    He is preceded in death by two of his sisters: Anna Vasquez and Celia Rael.

    He is survived by his two brothers: Alfonso Aragon of Anton Chico, and Jimmy Aragon of California; and four sisters: Frances Garcia of Clovis; Irene Nunez, Lucille Perea and Josie Nelson all of Albuquerque.

  • Pete Jerry Patron Jr.

    Pete Jerry Patron Jr., 62, of Levelland, Texas, died June 12, 2008, at his home. He was born Oct. 10, 1945, in Denver to Anna Marie and Pedro Cruz Patron.

    Pete loved fishing, amateur radio and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends who loved and knew him. He retired from the Texas Department of Corrections where he worked as a paralegal.

  • Pauline Joan Valdez

    Pauline Joan Valdez, age 61, a resident of Las Tusas, N.M. for the past seven years and former resident of the Bay Area in California for 41 years passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2008, at her home in Las Tusas, N.M.

    She was born on Sept. 9, 1946, in Albuquerque to Juan Sanchez and Amadita Candelaria Sanchez.

    She was united in marriage in Albuquerque on Sept. 15, 1962, to Henry Valdez.

    She was employed by Mervyn’s for many years and liked going to the casinos.

    She was preceded in death by her parents: Juan and Amadita Sanchez; sister: Flora Kresge-Sanchez

    The Mass of Christian Burial for Isabel R. Yara, 92, formerly of Trementina and Trujillo, N.M., and a long time resident of Las Vegas, was celebrated this morning at 9 from Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Father C. John Brasher celebrated the Mass.

    Jose Aragon born December 15, 1928, a lifelong resident of Anton Chico, N.M. passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2008.

    Juanita P. Sanchez, age 60, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2008, after a long term-term illness. She passed away at Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque in the presence of her immediate family.

    Isabel (Chavela) Yara, 92, formerly of Trementina and Trujillo, N.M., and a long time resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Wednesday at Alta Vista Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tranquilino Yara Jr.; her parents, Rebecco and Frutosa Maes Romero; two sons, Tony David Yara and Charlie Carlos Yara; four.
