  • Jose Alfonso Ludi

    Jose Alfonso Ludi, 74, of Las Vegas passed away on May 4, 2012 in Lima, Peru.  

    A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas. Our Lady of Sorrows Church is located at 403 Valencia Street.

  • William H. Romero

    William H. Romero, 49, a longtime resident of Los Vigiles, N.M., passed away on Friday, Aug. 10, 2012 at his residence.

    He was born on Nov. 3, 1962 in Las Vegas to Roger W. Romero and Anna Marie Baca Romero.

    He graduated from Robertson High School in 1980. He received his degree in electronic engineering and was employed at EG&G, Amtech Technologies and Luna Community College where he was an instructor in mathematics.

    He enjoyed writing poetry, carpentry, the outdoors, camping, hiking, hand fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

  • Esequiel “Zeke” Alcon

    Esequiel “Zeke” Alcon, 67, a lifelong resident of Wagon Mound, passed away on Monday following an extended illness.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfredo and Josie Romero Alcon; and his in-laws, Johnny and Celina Chavez.

    He is survived by his wife, Susie of Wagon Mound; five daughters, Clara Urquijo of Miami, N.M., Celina Esquibel and Tiffany Alcon of Wagon Mound, Hope Alcon of Albuquerque, and Sue Alcon of Santa Fe; two sons, Jonathan and Jason Alcon of Wagon Mound, N.M.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

  • Flora Garcia Romero

    At home with her loving family in El Alto, Flora Garcia Romero, 94 met our Lord on Aug. 8, 2012.

    Flora Leonides Garcia was born on July 30, 1918 in Ledoux, N.M., Mora County, to the union of Perpetua Vigil and Alfonso Garcia. After her mother died, Flora at the age of 12 together with her older sister Gertrude helped raise her younger siblings.

  • Isabel M. Lujan

    Isabel Maclovia Lujan, 75, of Las Vegas, passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012 after an extended illness.

    She was born to Catarino and Demetria Gutierrez in Sabinoso, N.M.

    She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was married to the late Charlie Lujan. Together they had and raised three children.

    Her greatest accomplishment in life was being a full-time mother to her children to make sure they became good, kind, and productive citizens.

  • Isabelle (Isabel) Pino - Ramirez

    Isabelle (Isabel) M., 79, born Aug. 4, 1933, passed away peacefully on Aug. 8, 2012 surrounded by loving family and friends.

    Mom was an incredible woman of strength and courage who enjoyed cooking, puzzle books and her family. Our loss is heaven’s gain.

    She was born in Golondrinas, N.M. She resided in Colorado, Cheyenne, Wyo.; Buena Vista, N.M.; and Mora.

  • Violet Velma Coppock

    Violet Velma Coppock, 90, of Springer, passed away Monday Aug. 6 2012, in Raton. She was born Aug. 27, 1921, in North Vernon, Ind.

    She was the daughter of Ralph and Caroline McDonald-Grier. Velma had worked at the Springer Library for many years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Springer.

    She is preceded in death by her parents and by Stanley Coppock, her husband of 70 years, and 11 brothers and sisters.

  • Richard B. Gonzales

    Richard B. Gonzales of Trementina and Tucumcari, N.M., passed away on July 26, 2012.

    He was born, in Trementina on Dec. 4, 1924. He was a rancher and truck driver.

    Gonzales, who never married, was preceded in death by his parents: Lucio and Carolina Hurtado Gonzales, his sisters: Agapita and Abenecia and his brothers: Juanito and Frank.
