    Habitat for Humanity in Las Vegas and the United World College-USA in Montezuma recently recognized Sonya and Adam Berg of Rociada for their longtime volunteer efforts.

    The Bergs, who have been “Get-Away” parents at UWC for 15 years, also have volunteered for other organizations, including the Gallinas Watershed Council and Friend of Las Vegas National Wildlife Refuge.

  • I will be the first to admit that for the first 12 or so years of my life I never understood why there was so much “hoopla” and celebration in other peoples’ lives on New Year’s Eve. I don’t remember ever even being awake at that supposedly magic hour called midnight.
