    The AAUW Summer Used Book Sale will be held July 11–13, 2019 at Sala de Madrid on the Highlands University campus at Eighth and University. The sale starts at 10 a.m. all 3 days and goes till 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and noon on Saturday. Hardcover books are $2 and paperbacks $1. 
    Bargain books are $1. Donations will be accepted on Wednesday, July 10, between noon and 4 p.m. at Sala de Madrid. Funds raised support educational programs and NMHU scholarships for women.

    The Forest Stewards Guild will be facilitating a public meeting for comment on the draft of the 2019 update of Mora County’s Wildfire Protection Plan on Tuesday, July 9 from 6-7 p.m. in the Mora High School Lecture Hall (#10 Ranger Drive, Mora, NM). A draft of the plan will be available for review at forestguild.org/mora-county-cwpp. Please review the draft and bring your comments for discussion at the public meeting.

    The Pendaries Art League Show takes place at the Pendaries Community Center, Pendaries Village, 31 Lodge Road in Rociada. A 5 p.m. Friday reception and 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday art show sessions are slated. The show’s literary corner featues writers Carmen Baca, James Bailey Blackshear, Sally Nelson Kruse, Ron Maestas, Kayt Peck and Edwina Romero.
