Beth Urech performs a short show as part of the Outrageous Art Show at Mayeur Projects on the Plaza. In “Jeannette Rankin Fights Back,” Beth portrays the first woman elected to Congress (from Montana) and a lifelong feminist and pacifist.

10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Hermit’s Peak Watershed Alliance is planning a Planting Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, near the La Placita Fire Station in Gallinas.


March 19
Vipassana meditation sitting led by Joan Kaiser. The day will combine sitting meditation with mindful walking and a talk about the Buddhist approach to “Finding Balance.” Kaiser has been a student of Buddhism in the Theravada lineage since 1985 and has practiced in the U.S. and Burma. She is a psychotherapist, trained in mindfulness based stress reduction and specializing in trauma and addictions. She has taught meditation and hatha yoga in treatment centers and prisons. El Creston Mutual Domestic Water Consumers Association annual meeting  will take place at Sheridan Volunteer Fire Station. The meeting will feature election of directors, briefings on El Creston’s accomplishments, plans for the future and voting on next year’s assessments.
