The monthly board meeting of the El Creston Mutual Domestic Water Consumers Association will take place on Thursday, June 9 at 49 Mira Sol Road in the Ojitos Frios Ranches Subdivision. The public is welcome to attend.

Friends of The Las Vegas Carnegie Library present The 2016 Summer Reading Program starting June 15 at from 10 a.m. to noon and continuing on each Wednesday through July 13. Registrations are open until June 10 and are available at the library. Children ages two to 12 are eligible to register. Presenters are planned for each Wednesday, along with activities, crafts, and fun. This program is free and open to children of all abilities.

Need a place to “chill,” to sit quietly for an hour with no interruptions, to meditate or to pray? First United Presbyterian Church, located at 1000 Douglas Ave., has opened its doors during the lunch hour.

San Miguel County Magistrate Court has set new hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The office will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Thursdays.
