Friends of Las Vegas Carnegie Library will present Zoo To You at noon at the library. The performance is part of the library’s Summer Reading Program. Attendees and lunch are limited for this free performance. Contact Zach at 505-426-3304 to register.

Glimpses of the Past, “The Long Walk of 1864” will take place at 7 p.m. at CCHP/Santa Fe Trail Interpretive Center at 116 Bridge St. in Las Vegas. In 1863, as the Civil War raged with campaigns and battles in the East. The U.S. Army in the Southwest would shift its attention away from the Confederate threat back to the Indian Wars. Nearly 154 years ago, Fort Union led the campaign of forced removal against the Mescalero Apache of the Pecos River Valley, and the Diné, or Navajo, of the Canyon de Chelly.
