Sunday, Sept. 2
The Michelle Lujan Grisham “Jobs and Leadership” Statewide Bus Tour will stop in Las Vegas, 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Charlie’s Spic & Span on Douglas. Come and learn about gubernatorial candidate Michelle Lujan Grisham’s plans for the economy, creating safer communities and improving schools.

Wednesday, Sept. 5
The United World College-USA will host a meeting from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. to discuss options for managing the hot springs. The meeting will be held on campus in Kluge Auditorium and is open to the public. UWC owns the hot baths and allows free public access from 5 a.m. to midnight daily. There have been problems with trash, disturbances, trespassing after hours, and prohibited alcohol and drug use. Those attending the meeting are asked to check in at the Welcome Center. Wednesday, Sept. 5
The County of San Miguel will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. at the San Miguel County Commission Chambers, 500 W. National Avenue, Second Floor to receive public input on community development needs and suggestions for future 2019 CDBG projects. Anyone is welcome to attend, submit project ideas, and provide supporting data and testimony.

Thursday, Sept. 6
Women military veterans in northern New Mexico are invited to stop by special New Mexico Department of Veterans Services women veterans outreach visit from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the agency’s Las Vegas office, 917 Douglas Ave. No appointments are necessary. The United World College-USA is looking for Get-Away families for students to get off campus and spend time with. It can be as little as one afternoon a month, weekends and even holiday breaks. Students are 16 to 19 years old and will meet their Get-Away families at our annual Sundae Sunday at 3 p.m. on September 16.
