Letter: Speaking Spanish a political ploy

-A A +A
By Emilio Arago

Hey, all you English-only advocates, don’t you find it strange that all the politicians, and wannabes, politique in Spanish. It’s like these guys don’t know how to speak Spanish (or want to allow us to speak the language), except when they want something.

Is this a form of “situation ethics” — kinda like Domenici promising, at every election, that he was going to have enforced the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.

Don’t believe everything you hear. And, while I am at it,  why is it so many family members seem to run for “public office”?  Can’t they find a real job — one in which us taxpayers don’t have to support them for years and years, while they become career politicians on the public dole?
