Highlands tripped up in Colorado

By Dave Kavanaugh

Field goals were hard to come by for the New Mexico Highlands Cowboys, who shot just 29 percent from the floor in a 73-41 setback at Metro State on Saturday night.

Mike Nwabuzor (15 points on 4-of-10 shooting) was the lone player to reach double digits for the Cowboys (11-6, 6-5 RMAC).

Nwabuzor made all seven of his free throws, but the Cowboys got just nine total attempts at the foul line compared to 32 for the Roadrunners, who made 23 of them. Nwabuzor and Nmamdi Okoro both fouled out, and two other Cowboys were saddled with foul trouble.
