application CR-05883
with the STATE ENGINEER for Permit to Appropriate Groundwater
in the Canadian River
Underground Water Basin of the State of New
Mexico.
Mora County is the
county affected by the
diversion and in which
the water will be put
to beneficial use. This
notice is ordered to be
published in the Las Vegas Optic.
The applicant is requesting to commence
the use of an existing
well CR-05883 POD1
located
at
Latitude
35°54’ 41.47823” North,
Longitude 105° 15’
11.54737” West, within
the NE1/4SW1/4SW1/4
of Section 33, Township 20 North, Range
16 East, N.M.P.M. Well
CR-05883 POD1 is
125 feet deep and is
constructed with 5 inch
inside diameter casing. The applicant is
requesting to divert and
consumptively use an
amount of water not to
exceed 3 acre-feet per
annum measured at the
well for irrigation and
commercial purposes
on 2.0 acres of land located within the Pt. of
Section 33, Township
20 North, Range 16
East, N.M.P.M.
Proposed well CR05883 POD1 and the
place of use are located
near Buena Vista, New
Mexico in Mora County.

Any person, firm or corporation or other entity
having standing to file
objections or protests
shall do so in writing
(objection must be legible, signed, and include
the writer’s complete
name, phone number,
email address, and
mailing address). The
objection to the approval of the application
must be based on: (1)
Impairment; if impairment, you must specifically identify your water
rights*; and/or (2) Public
Welfare/Conservation
of Water; if public welfare or conservation of
water within the state of
New Mexico, you must
show how you will be
substantially and specifically affected. The
written protest must be
filed, in triplicate, with
the State Engineer,
District VII Office of the
State Engineer, P.O.
Box 481, 301 East 9th
Street, Cimarron, New
Mexico, 87714 on or
before Friday, November 5, 2021. Facsimiles
(faxes) will be accepted
as a valid protest if the
hard copy is hand-delivered or mailed and postmarked within 24-hours
of the facsimile. Mailing
postmark will be used
to validate the 24-hour
period. Protests can be
faxed to the District VII
Office of the State Engineer, (575)376-4565.
If no valid protest or objection is filed, the State
Engineer will evaluate
the application in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 72
NMSA 1978.
