Dons, Cards rock foes

Thanks in no small part to the fourth-quarter heroics of Miguel Sena and Fenix Young, West Las Vegas forced a three-way tie for first place in District 2-4A boys’ basketball Thursday night.

Sena scored 12 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter and Young went 4 for 4 at the foul line to lead the Dons (17-5) to a 60-46 win over Pojoaque Valley (18-5) at Gillie Lopez Gym.

The Elks came into the contest alone atop the district standings, but West’s win set up a three-way tie (at 2-1) with Robertson (20-3), which beat Taos on Thursday night.
