Long ball back in vogue

ALBUQUERQUE — Three Isotopes hit home runs on Thursday, and the team scored six times in the bottom of the first inning to take a 6-1 lead, but that display of offensive firepower wasn’t enough to guarantee victory.

The Tacoma Rainiers (48-50) eventually took the three-hour, nine-minute shootout 14-11, connecting for five home runs of their own and salvaging a win in a series they’d already lost.
