Three-game win streak.

Tie for first place in District 2-4A.

And one heck of a good feeling.

West Las Vegas’ football team reveled in all three Friday night after knocking off Taos 20-14 in the district opener at the Herrera Complex.

Jose Juan Montaño scored the go-ahead touchdown on a quarterback keeper with 7:37 left in the ballgame, giving the Dons their first lead of the night. Although they did not convert the subsequent 2-point try, they managed to stay in front thanks to effective defense.
