Robertson alumnus Justin “Mayo” Montoya scored 12 points in 17 minutes Saturday, becoming one of six Cowboys in double figures for a 103-88 men’s basketball rout of Western New Mexico.

Highlands (14-7, 8-5 RMAC) has won five in a row.

New Mexico Highlands’ softball team broke the ice — literally, sort of — on Tuesday by splitting a doubleheader with Eastern New Mexico, losing 15-6 but taking game two 7-0.

Karlee Bradley led all scorers with 20 points and Kassandra Tapia turned out another double-double Monday night for Robertson in a 55-41 win at Raton.

Bradley, who’d fouled out of the Lady Cardinals’ shorthanded loss at Santa Fe Indian School on Saturday,, provided offense to spare on Monday. Tapia recorded 12 points and 12 rebounds, Daniella Montoya had 16 points and Miranda Garcia grabbed eight boards for Robertson.
