  • Robbers to host playoff games

Dillon Usiak’s three-RBI home run in the first inning provided all the offense the Las Vegas Train Robbers would need for an 8-1 win over Raton on Sunday at Rodriguez Park.

Randy Wells, who’d gotten on with a one-out double, and Adam Kam, who was hit by a pitch, were on board when Chris Wilson singled to drive in the game’s first run.

Then came Usiak, who was ahead 3-1 in the count when he drilled a shot that would hold up as the game-winner.

  • A Star is born - Endemann...

When his days playing football for New Mexico Highlands came to a close, Andy Endemann had no intention of hanging up his cleats.

The hulking (6-3, 305 lbs.) but good-natured Endemann stayed active, signing up to play rugby locally with the Vatos, a club that has over the years represented a way for many NMHU athletes to continue competitive sport beyond their years of intercollegiate eligibility.
