For the third time in four seasons, the New Mexico Highlands Cowboys are headed to the national tournament in NCAA Division II baseball.
The Cowboys and head coach Steve Jones learned their postseason fate on Sunday evening.
Highlands is the No. 4 seed in a six-team Central Regional to be held Thursday through Sunday in Mankato, Minn.
The Cowboys will play No. 3 seed Colorado Mesa (39-14), their longtime archrival from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, at noon Central time on Thursday, the first day of the regional playoff.
