Jayme Quintana, who once starred for West Las Vegas in golf and basketball as well as track and field, broke new ground in her collegiate career this past weekend.
Quintana reportedly set a school record for New Mexico Highlands University’s women in the 600-meter run as part of the Cherry & Silver Invitational hosted by the University of New Mexico at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
Quintana finished 10th individually with a time of 1:38.3. That time eclipsed M.J. Oheue’s record set in 2014, according to the school.
