So much for a long goodbye.
Saturday’s Las Vegas Train Robbers matinee at New Mexico Highlands University’s Brandt Park never made it to the field.
The game had been expected to be the final home appearance of the Train Robbers this season. But it ended up being cancelled by Friday, with the second half of a peculiar two-city doubleheader remaining intact at Santa Fe’s Fort Marcy Park.
The reason? A source close to the team said the team and NMHU had a dispute over facility usage that led to the game’s cancellation.
