Rock Ulibarri’s signature cowboy hat is gone, along with his home and his lifelong belongings. But his spirit remains positive as he looks forward to rebuilding after a devastating fire engulfed his El Porvenir home Thursday night.
The house provided a home for the incoming county commissioner and his sons. Ulibarri and his 13-year-old son, Santiago, made it out safety. Their blind mix-breed, 13-year-old dog, Willow, also made her way out of the blaze.
