New Mexico Highlands’ women’s track and field came away with a third-place team finish, another program milestone, in this past weekend’s NCAA Division II national indoor track and field championships in Birmingham, Ala.
Highlands, which had finished the indoor schedule ranked No. 1 in the nation for the first time in school history, garnered 37 team points. That put the Cowgirls into a tie for third with Ashland, behind only Central Missouri (47) and Hillsdale (40). Forty schools were represented in the meet.
