It’s official. By a vote of 3-to-0, the City Council on Tuesday confirmed Elmer Martinez as city manager and approved a contract for him that runs through the end of the year.
The contract calls for Martinez, 58, to receive an annual salary of $89,664, which is about $20,000 less than the city was paying former city manager Timothy Dodge.
Martinez, who has worked at the city for about 18 years, received a standing ovation following the vote. He has served as acting city manager since June.
