Rip Huntington, 36, was killed in a standoff with New Mexico State Police early Monday morning. Police say Huntington fired a weapon at them and threatened to kill officers, and that he had a great deal of ammunition.
Pecos man killed in standoff with state police

Interstate 25 has been re-opened both northbound and southbound from mile marker 307 to mile marker 323 (Rowe to Sands) after an officer-involved shooting led to the death of a Pecos man Monday morning.

According to the New Mexico State Police, the New Mexico State Police is investigating an officer-involved shooting which occurred around 1:15 a.m. Monday morning in Rowe, near Pecos. Rip S. Huntington, 36, was killed after a lengthy situation in which NMSP says Huntington fired a weapon at police.
