Throwing a lot of heavy weights around is nothing new to Ralph Archuleta.
The 29-year-old West Las Vegas grad has been lifting for years, often while hanging around gyms with the likes of uncle Tommy and older brothers Adam and Frankie — who made his name as a professional boxer.
Four years ago, he even ventured into competitive powerlifting, winning an event in Rio Rancho and earning a nationals qualifier. But he passed on the opportunity to go to the next level.
“Just work,” he said of opting out. “Too busy.”
