Crews battling blaze by Sipapu
TAOS — Aircraft will resume efforts to contain wildfire burning in the Carson National Forest that has scorched about 1.9 square miles in northwest New Mexico and triggered the evacuation of a monastery.
Five air tankers began fighting the blaze Thursday morning and fire crew are also being helped by helicopters. Carson National Forest Service spokeswoman Dorotea Martinez says that about 170 firefighters are battling the blaze.
