Whether the movement is through art, music, dance or teaching, Olivia Lovato,a.k.a. Olivia Lovato-Winston, continues to be in tune with the times.
Born in July 1943, Lovato spent her early years in the Clayton-Bueyros area of northeastern New Mexico. Her great-grandfather, Guadalupe Lobato, a cibolero or buffalo hunter, homesteaded the ranch near Bueyeros in the 19th century.
Lovato and her eight siblings were taught by their parents, Toribio Jr. and Jo Ann Leger Lovato, to survive, despite the rustic and isolated environs.
