  • First Fort and Arsenal tours Saturday at Fort Union

    Fort Union National Monument announced its final First Fort and Arsenal Tours of 2013. The final tours for this year will take place on Saturday, Sept. 21 at the monument located near Watrous.

    Join a ranger for guided programs at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 12:15 p.m., and 2 p.m. Visitors and park staff will meet at the Visitor Center 15 minutes prior to the program time, then caravan out to the First Fort site.

    ALBUQUERQUE — Defense attorneys took aim Tuesday at a key prosecution witness in the capital murder trial of a former Arizona fugitive accused of killing an Oklahoma couple, saying it was the witness who made the decision to target the victims for their pickup truck and travel trailer.

  • Mora County Notebook: Cinderella play a huge success

    Cinderella The Story of Big Foot was a great success. The actors were very professional and spoke their lines without a hitch and they could be heard very well.  The performance was held Saturday night and again on Sunday afternoon at the Mora Elementary Gymnasium. For both performances there were more than a hundred people in attendance. It was a true comedy that kept the audience laughing as the actors did a great take off of the Cinderella story throwing in the fact that she had big feet.
