    Blessing of the waters is Tuesday

    Blessing of the waters, one of the Heritage Week events, will take place after Tuesday’s 5:30 p.m. Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows church. A procession will follow the Mass to the bridge on Bridge Street. The event is free and open to the public.

    Friday, Aug. 2 — The Rt. Rev. Msgr. George V. Rieffer of Las Vegas, vicar general of the Santa Fe Archdiocese, will administer the archdiocese until Pope Paul VI names a new archbishop. Msgr. Rieffer, pastor of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church at Sixth and National, was named administrator Thursday by the archdiocese board of consultors.

    The New Mexico Lottery has sold a winning Hot Lotto ticket for Saturday’s jackpot of $7.3 million, the state lottery communication’s office announced. It is the only winning ticket nationwide. The winning numbers are 2, 4, 29, 38, 41 and a Hot Ball of 7. This is the sixth jackpot-winning ticket sold in New Mexico.
