City Council members are considering a change in the city’s ordinance that would put more of the burden for filling out required forms for utilities on the tenant and the city.

That would be a change. As it stands, landlords bear most of the burden, much to their chagrin.

During public input at a recent council meeting, landlords took the city to task on the city’s landlord-tenant agreement that requires that landlords fill out form with their tenants and then take it to customer service, sometimes making multiple trips.

UP thumb ... READY TO GO. Struggling with broken equipment for months, the management at the city’s recreation center kept its pledge to have all the treadmills operational before the end of the year. Wednesday morning, all the machines appeared to have been working fine.

Let’s hope exercise buffs take advantage of the repaired equipment as they begin their New Year’s resolutions, and that the rec center staff can keep them working throughout the new year.

The Aggie women have represented both of the victories this season for New Mexico Highlands, which won a 68-64 overtime thriller on Friday in Goodwell, Okla., to improve to 2-10 overall.

Oliana Seanoa scored a game-high 20 points and teammate Amanda Beauchamp recorded a double-double with 13 points (10 of which came in overtime) and 10 rebounds to pace the Cowgirls.

The medal round is set at the 55th Stu Clark Tournament.

On Tuesday, Artesia ran over Shiprock 73-47 in one semifinal and Rio Grande outdueled West Las Vegas 76-65 in the other, setting up a Bulldogs vs. Ravens matchup in Wednesday night's championship game.

Also Tuesday at New Mexico Highlands' Wilson Complex, St. Pius X beat Robertson 55-39, and Bernalillo came back from a nine-point halftime deficit to overtake Portales 56-45.
