Seven was the lucky number for Clarence Montoya and his Robertson Cardinals soccer team.
In the seventh match of the season Monday afternoon at Questa, the team broke a season-opening losing skid with an emphatic 10-0 romp that just may signal good times ahead.
“It was over pretty quick,” Montoya said Monday night. “We had played well vs. Goddard (a 3-2 loss Saturday in Roswell), and the boys were ready to play.”
Keen Martinez scored twice in that match, which Robertson led until “about 18 minutes to go,” Montoya said.
