A familiar face is now heading the West Las Vegas School District.
During a school board meeting on Thursday evening, the board unanimously approved Gene Parson as superintendent for the district.
He had been the district associate superintendent.
He replaces Ruben Cordova who submitted his 30-day resignation letter late last month. Parson’s appointment will run through June 30 at the salary of $95,000. Cordova was making $100,000 a year. Cordova served as district superintendent since May 2010.
