  • Peñasco outlasts Lady Dons

    Entertaining? Yes.

    Competitive? You bet.

    Promising? Sure.

    Victorious? Not this time.

The first match of the Felix Flores Era of the West Las Vegas volleyball program took place Wednesday night at Gillie Lopez Gym, and the Lady Dons lost in five games to visiting Peñasco out of Class 2A.

West rallied from a two-games-to-one deficit in the match to force a winner-take-all game five, and the Lady Dons promptly went ahead 8-1 as Larrissa Gallegos and Faith Romero each had successful attacks at the net.
