By the time Annette Leger found out she had lung cancer, she was already in Stage IV.
The Las Vegas native who currently lives in Albuquerque had a cough that wouldn’t go away. Her primary care physician initially suspected asthma and gave her medication.
Leger had asked for a chest X-ray, but was told it wasn’t necessary. She didn’t insist until later on when the cough persisted.
“She got a chest X-ray and, boom, there it is,” said her brother Nicolas Leger.
