    ALBUQUERQUE — A second suspect has been fatally shot by Albuquerque police in three days, sparking renewed calls by activists for a federal probe.

    Authorities say an Albuquerque officer shot and killed a man Wednesday near Laguna Pueblo after a chase that began when the motorist shot at two women in Albuquerque.

    The heavy use of air fresheners inside a vehicle tipped state police off that something wasn’t right when they conducted a traffic stop over the weekend.
    Documents filed in San Miguel Magistrate Court state that the heavy air freshener was an attempt to mask the smell of close to two pounds of marijuana inside the vehicle.
