Tuesday, July 12, 1966 — (Optic editorial) The decision by the Board of Regents of New Mexico Highlands University to rename the Arts and Education Building in honor of Dr. Quincy Guy Burris is high but earned  tribute to a man who has spent 28 years with the school. • Murphy’s Law wrecks Birds

For the first time in nearly eight years, an Albuquerque Isotope has hit for the cycle.

Catcher Tom Murphy hit a single, double, triple and home run Thursday night, going 4 for 5 with two RBI, as the Isotopes defeated Memphis 12-8.

He became the first Isotope to hit for the cycle since Robert Andino did it on Aug. 21, 2008.

And apparently Jordan Patterson’s participation in All-Star week didn’t take much of a toll on him.
