  • Lucy Hadderton

    Lucy Hadderton, 101, a resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, at the Alta Vista Regional Hospital in Las Vegas.

    She was born on July 6, 1909, in Claytonville, Texas, to Burt Neel and Addie Etheredge-Neel.

    She was united in marriage on June 26, 1927, in Roby, Texas to Jack Hadderton.

    Lucy enjoyed gardening, sewing and playing the piano.

  • Leo A. Garduo

    Leo A. Garduño, was called to his heavenly home on Sunday, August 8, 2010.  

    He was born in 1955 in Las Vegas to Geronimo Garduño and Antonia Garcia Garduño. Leo was the youngest son in a family of 19 children. He was raised in Las Vegas and graduated from West Las Vegas High School, and New Mexico Highlands University.  

  • Edward F. Gentry

    Edward F. Gentry, born in Shoemaker, N.M., passed away Aug. 8, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 29, 1927, to the late Henry and Susanna Gentry.

    A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Las Vegas. Mass will be celebrated by Rev. George Salazar at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, also at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe.

  • Geraldine “Geri” Juarez

    Geri Juarez died peacefully in her home Aug. 7, 2010, after a long illness.

    She was born March 30, 1946, in Vallejo, Calif., to Ralph Olivas and Rose Martinez Olivas. Her family had spent the greater part of World War II in California. Baby Geri was cradled in an apple box on the long drive home to Longmont after the war.

    She attended St. John’s Catholic School and graduated from Longmont High School in 1964. In 1962, Geri was elected queen of the Longmont G.I. Forum and was second runner-up in state competition.

    Loretta Maria Pincheira November 12, 1963 ~ August 10, 2010 Loretta Pincheira, 46, of Santa Fe, passed away unexpectedly August 10, 2010. She was born on November 12, 1963 in Las Vegas, New Mexico. She is preceded in death by her father, Louis Maestas; and brother, Michael Maestas.

    Alfonso I. Angel, age 74, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at the Alta Vista Regional Hospital in Las Vegas.

    He was born on June 29, 1936, in Las Vegas to the late Thomas C. Angel and Maris Gina Lucero-Angel.

    He enjoyed playing the guitar, and he had a great sense of humor.

    A lifetime Catholic, he was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas.
