  • Pilar Ortiz

    Pilar Ortiz, 77, a resident of Grants, N.M., for the passed 44 years and formerly of San Jose, N.M., passed away on April 1, 2011, at the Anna Kaseman Presbyterian Hospital.

    He was born on Sept. 15, 1933, in San Jose to the late Roman G. Ortiz and Clara Segura-Ortiz.

    Pilar was a loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

  • Manuel de Atocha Sisneros

    Manuel de Atocha Sisneros, 66, was a beloved and devoted son, brother, husband, uncle and father.

    He was born in Dahlia, N.M., on June 4, 1944, to Celestina Sisneros and Fidel Sisneros, all of whom preceded him in death, including, only one son Matias Manuel Michael (BooBoo).

    He completed his journey on earth and entered eternal life with the Lord, on Tuesday, March 29, 2011.

    He is survived by his wife, Maxine Velasquez Sisneros, brothers, sisters and their spouses, and numerous nieces and nephews.

  • Carlota Armijo

    Carlota Armijo, 96, a longtime resident of Las Vegas currently living in Santa Fe, N.M., passed away on Friday, March 25, 2011 in Santa Fe.

    She was born on May 24, 1914, she was a lifetime Catholic.

    She was united in marriage to Feliciano Armijo.

    She was preceded in death by her husband Feliciano Armijo on Sept. 18, 1968; granddaughter Carla Armijo; son-in-law Valentine Martinez on June 7, 1986 and great granddaughter Andrea Valdez on Oct. 18, 2009.

  • Daniel R. Gutierrez, Jr.

    Daniel R. Gutierrez, Jr. was born in Las Vegas on May 10, 1960, to the late Daniel R. Gutierrez and Olivia Gutierrez. He passed away on March 29, 2011.

    He was a West Las Vegas High School graduate. He was previously employed at Applebees in Albuquerque, where he resided.

    He was preceded in death by his father Daniel R. Gutierrez; maternal grandmother Aurora Loera; maternal grandfather Gregorio Loera; aunt Rita Romero; nephew David Roybal; uncle Bobby Loera; paternal grandmother Isabel Gutierrez; uncle Isidoro Gutierrez and uncle Alfred Gutierrez.

  • Antonio Martinez

    Antonio Martinez, 91, a lifelong resident of Las Vegas peacefully passed away at his home on Wednesday evening surrounded by his family.

    Service will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, dates and times are pending and will be announced by his family on Monday, April 4.

  • Bernardina O. Gallegos

    Bernardina O. Gallegos was born on El Pueblo, N.M., on Nov. 1, 1927, to the late Teodoro Ortiz and Juanita Padilla Ortiz. She was a member of the San Miguel del Vado Catholic Church her entire life. She was an active member of the San Antonio Catholic Mission where she was a mayordoma and taught catechism. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and praying. She went to meet the Lord on Monday, March 28, 2011.

  • Michael Ralph Martinez

    Michael Ralph Martinez, 48, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas, N.M., passed away on Friday, March 25, 2011.

    He was born in Las Vegas on Oct. 24, 1962, to Joseph Martinez, Sr. and Carmen C. Lopez-Martinez.

    He was a West Las Vegas graduate and retired from the New Mexico Behavioral Institute where he was employed as Security Guard. He was a marketing major at Luna Vocational Technical Institute.

    He was preceded in death by his brother: Leroy Gabriel Lopez- Martinez.

  • Gumecindo Ortiz, Jr.

    Gumecindo Ortiz, Jr., 96, a resident of Las Vegas passed away on Monday, March 28, 2011 at Meadows Ill.

    He was born in Sheridan, N.M., on Oct. 16, 1914, to the late Nicolas Ortiz and Adelia Rodriguez-Ortiz. He was united in marriage to Flora Ludi.

    He served in the United States Navy during World War II as Seamen 2nd Class. He retired from the A.T and S.F. Railroad where he was employed as machinist. He was a volunteer at the Senior Citizens for many years.

    A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.

  • Anita Consuelo Barela and Anna Marie Vasquez

    Anita Consuelo Barela was born on July 7, 1951 in Las Vegas and passed away on Feb. 19, 2011, in Westminster, Colo.

    Anna Marie Vasquez was born on June 9, 1953 in Rocky Ford, Colo., and passed away on June 11, 2009, in Westminster, Colo.

    They are preceded in death by their father Luis T. Barela, mother Matilde A. Barela and brother J. Victor Barela.

  • Ruben Cordova

    Ruben Cordova, 83 of Las Vegas passed peacefully to be with the Lord on March 19, 2011. He was lovingly surrounded by his family.

    Ruben was born in Chacon, N.M., to the late Benjamin and Nfelia Cordova on May 21, 1927. He was a devoted brother to Placido Cordova, Ben Cordova, Clarence Cordova, Consuelo Medina, Loyola Cordova, Anna May Cordova and Mary Herrera and uncle to numerous nephews and nieces and their children.
