  • Danny William 'Dalton' Lovato

    Danny William “Dalton” Lovato, age 45, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas, N.M., suddenly passed away on Tuesday Nov. 13, 2007.

    He was born in Las Vegas, N.M., to Andy and Marcia Martinez-Lovato on July 7, 1962.

    He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his father: Andelecio Lovato; niece: Lee Ann Martinez.

    Danny will be greatly missed by his family and everyone who knew him.

    Theresa C. Marquez, age 71, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, N.M., passed away on Wednesday Nov. 14, 2007, at her home following an extended illness.

    She was born in Loma Parda, N.M., on May 2, 1936, to the late Eloy Conway Sr. and Agneda Paiz Conway.

    She was united in marriage at Las Vegas, N.M., on Sept. 1, 1952, to the late Faustin Marquez.

    She was known for her famous tortillas and homemade jerky. She loved to cook, play cards and games.

    Julian Flores age 69, born Aug. 17, 1938, passed away on Nov. 13, 2007, on Rowe Mesa while enjoying one of his favorite pastimes, wood cutting.

  • Marcella G. Gutierrez

    Marcella G. Gutierrez, age 72, a four-year resident of Las Vegas, N.M. and former seven-year resident of Mora, N.M., and 21-year resident of Grants, N.M. passed away on Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at her home.

    She was born in Williams, Ariz,. on March 13, 1935, to the late Emeterio Gomez and Regina Padilla Gomez.

    A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.

    She was preceded in death by her parents: Emeterio and Regina Gomez; husband: Anastacio Gutierrez; sister: Mary Padilla; brother: Jimmy Gomez; and step-daughter: Tina Kingery.

  • Julian Flores

    Julian Flores age 69, born August 17, 1938, passed away on Nov. 13, 2007, on Rowe Mesa while enjoying one of his favorite pastimes, wood cutting.

    Julian, aka “Peeps” or “Pomps,” as he was lovingly called by his grandchildren, was a life-long resident of San Juan (El Valle), and a member of the Catholic community in San Miguel where he was an active member of the choir for most of his life.

    Paul T. Silva, age 31, a resident of Las Vegas, N.M., passed away on Sunday Nov. 11, 2007.

    He was born in Las Vegas, N.M., on Aug. 25, 1976, to Dennis Silva and Lisa Herrera.

    He was united in marriage on Dec. 19, 1998, to Christina Lucero.

    Jose A. Martinez, a resident of the Roy/Mosquero area and retired educator passed away on Wednesday afternoon at Denver Health Medical Center.

    Services are pending and will be announced by his family at a later date.

    The mass of resurrection for Agripina M. Sanchez, of Las Vegas, N.M., was celebrated this morning at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father C. John Brasher as celebrant. Interment followed at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Las Vegas, N.M., with the following serving as casket bearers: Carlos C. Griego, Richard P. Griego, Michael R. Griego, Kenneth D. Griego, Benjamin Sanchez II, Marcos Sanchez, Chris Sanchez and Stephen Sandoval. Serving as honorary bearers: Antonio D. Griego, Leroy Sanchez, Carlos Sanchez, Marcos D. Sanchez, Chris Pope and Patrick Pope.

  • Margie Purcell Lovato

    A rosary will be recited this evening at 7 p.m. from Our Lady of Sorrows Church for 71-year- old Margie Purcell Lovato, a life long resident of Las Vegas who passed away in Denver, Colo., on Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at the same church. Father C. John Brasher will celebrate the Mass. The interment will follow in the San Jose Cemetery.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Celia Montoya; a brother Frank Montoya, and a cousin, George Montoya.
